Day in my life as a college student – Langley Riha, Evan Morrison, and Kenzie Kvammen

Have you ever wondered what a typical day looks like for Hastings College students juggling academics, athletics, and social life?  Every student’s day looks different from one another, especially with various classes, majors, athletics, or even part-time work. This article will examine three different Hastings College junior students’ daily routines from their day in life videos: Langley Riha from Gretna, Nebraska, Evan Morrison from Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada, and Kenzie Kvammen from Council Bluffs.

The first Junior, Langley Riha, is a Business and Broadcasting major with Communication and Sports Media as a minor from Gretna, Nebraska. Riha is a multi-sports athlete at Hastings College, participating in soccer and bowling. Riha begins her morning by making her bed and completing her morning routine, which includes washing her face, brushing her teeth, and applying makeup. She eats a quick breakfast before heading to her 10:20 a.m. acting class. After class, Riha and her roommate, Madie Miles, got coffee from Scooters. After she gets scooters, Riha spends time working on homework and delivering treats to several ladies around campus. Then, Riha goes to her 2:10 p.m class,  Interpersonal communication. After class, Riha has bowling practice. After bowling, Riha and her friends watched a basketball game at the YMCA. She ends her day by getting Taco Bell and hanging out with her roommates, which Riha expressed her favorite part of the day is seeing and hanging out with her roommates!

The second Junior, Evan Morrison, is a baseball athlete and an Exercise Science major from Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada. Morrison begins his day off at 5:00 a.m. for his 6:00 a.m. lifting. After lifting, he goes back to his apartment for breakfast, a shower, and then to take a nap. At 12:00 pm he went and hit the cages for baseball. At 1:30 p.m., he had some down time, which he spent watching golf and having lunch, which was some pizza. At 3:00 p.m., Morrison played some video games before he got dinner at 5:30 at Freddy’s. After that, Morrison did some homework for a bit. After Morrison did some homework, he had a poker night with his friends, and lights out at 12:00 a.m. Morrison said “that his favorite part of his day is lifting, napping, or playing poker.”

The third Junior, Kenzie Kvammen, is a Physical Education major from Council Bluffs. Kvammen starts her day off at 7:00 a.m. by eating breakfast. Kvammen heads to class at 8:00 a.m. After class, Kvammen did some homework and then got ready for her next class at 10:20 a.m. Then, after her 10:20 class, she heads to work at 12 until 6 p.m. around 6:30 p.m she showers and makes dinner for her and her roommate. Then, Kvammen watched a movie with her roommate before she got ready for bed at 8:45 p.m. Kvammen said her favorite part of her day is “the end of the day going home to my roommate and getting to spend time with her and one of us cooks for the other.”
