Children’s Books Intercultural Class 

Hastings College’s Intercultural Communication class is preparing children’s books that will be read to third graders at Lincoln Elementary. Students taking the class were asked to create a book with storylines and illustrations featuring a multicultural focus. Hastings College celebrates Homecoming all week long

Hastings College hosted its annual Homecoming Dinner and Dance on Friday, October 25, where royalty winners, Marcus Dustin and Wyatt Ryan were crowned. HC’s Student Association held multiple events throughout the week in celebration of Homecoming including sporting events and other activities for students to attend on campus. With October being Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Hastings College StudentEngagement has partnered with enCourage Advocacy Center by hosting the Healthy & HealingSupport Group support group for those who have experienced sexual assault, domestic violence,stalking and harassment. 12 Students Attend the 2024 Annual Chaplain’s Retreat

On Friday Sept. 20 through Sunday Sept. 22, Chaplain Doodle Harris and Kathleen Lorenzen took 12 students to The Crossing in Lexington, Neb. for the 2024 Fall Chaplain’s Retreat.  The retreats are held annually, with this being the third, and are focused around a specific part in the bible. Controversy over Hastings College dining hall changes

Hastings College has partnered with Scott Residential Management, a company that also works with the University of Nebraska Omaha, to implement changes to the dining hall. Students expressed their concerns over the dining hall last year through surveys sent out by the college. Hastings College Scott Scholars take a two day retreat to Northeastern Nebraska

The Hastings College Scott Scholars went on a retreat to Norfolk on Aug. 9-10. The goal of the retreat was to bond as a community. The scholars met with Growing Together Northeast Nebraska, a workforce training program located in downtown Norfolk.
