Last Wednesday, approximately 150 students attended the fall involvement fair to learn more about the 22 on and off campus groups and activities. Some of these groups included the Hastings YMCA, Model UN, Bronco Catholic and Student Association.
The fair is a great way for all students, but especially first years and transfer students, to get involved on campus. Although it can allow new students to find places to make friends and gain connections, it’s never too late to start or join a group. Senior Riley Lanning from Glendale, Ariz. started a student group called “Association for Women’s Health and Education Research”.
The group is meant to “give women a resource that has evidence-based information on how they can optimize their own health,” said Lanning.
Lanning had about 15 girls sign up to join her group, while she came to the involvement fair with only five members – all being upperclassmen. The founders were thrilled to have potential members who can carry on the organization after they graduate.
The Spring Involvement Fair will be Jan. 15, 2025.
